How Only Livein Works

By Vincent Cruz

Only Livein collects live-in caregiver jobs from across the web and puts them in one feed, ranked by pay. That is the whole idea — and this page explains the whole machine: what you can see for free, what membership unlocks, how credits work, and how families and agencies use the site. Every price is stated. There are no hidden fees anywhere in what follows.

For caregivers: the feed

Live-in jobs are scattered across job boards, agency sites, and classifieds, buried under hourly listings that have nothing to do with live-in work. Our scanner sweeps those sources three times a day and keeps only the live-in cases, sorted into three lanes: Agency listings, Private family cases, and Hourly $25+ — hourly work paying at least $25 an hour on shifts of 8 to 12 hours. Inside each lane, the highest pay sits on top. Listings roll off after 21 days, and a weekly sweep removes ones we can confirm are filled or gone.

Anyone can browse the shape of the market for free: the public Tracker shows how many live cases each state has, and listing teasers show the employer type, the state, and the pay. The full listing — who is hiring, the city, and the link to the original posting — is for members — and every new account starts with 7 days of free feed access, no card required. Full membership is $19.99 a year.

Credits and premium cases

Some cases pay $400 a day or more. When we confirm one of those is real, it is locked, and members open it with a credit. Membership includes 2 credits, and more come in packs: 1 for $4.99, 5 for $19.99, 10 for $34.99. Credits never expire. And the rule that matters: if an unlocked case turns out to be filled or unreachable, your credit comes back automatically. You never pay for a dead end.

Members also get the news first. A digest of new listings lands by email every morning, and the moment a premium case is confirmed, members get an instant email and a phone notification — before it is gone.

Your profile, your resume, the Lounge

Members can publish a profile in the caregiver directory, so families and agencies can find you and reach you through in-app chat — your phone number and email are never shown. Publishing takes a separate confirmation step, and you can pause or remove your profile at any time. Your profile also builds you a clean one-page resume automatically, ready to download or print, and your credentials show as badges, labeled honestly as self-reported.

The Caregivers Lounge is a members-only group chat that runs on anonymous handles — nobody sees your real name, and contact information is blocked for everyone's safety. And if you invite another caregiver with your personal link, you earn a credit when they create an account.

For families: post a case

Post your case and it comes to us first. A standard post is free, and every free post is reviewed by a person before it goes live — that review is how we keep scams out of the feed. Your family name never appears; your case shows as "Private family," and caregivers contact you through the app, never by your personal phone or email.

A premium post is $49.99: your case is promoted across Only Livein for 30 days and emailed to every active member the moment it goes live, then it stays listed as a standard post for another 30 days.

For agencies: listings and the directory

If your jobs are posted on the boards we scan, they may already reach our feed — there is nothing you need to do. Separately, our agency directory lists more than 8,000 licensed home care agencies, built from public state licensing records. The basic listing is free and shows your name, city, business phone, and license record, labeled as public record with its source and date.

Claiming your listing is $49.99 a year. A claimed profile carries your logo, your website, your own description, a live-in specialty flag, and a claimed badge — and claims are verified against the license record before payment, so a listing can only be claimed by the agency it belongs to.

The data underneath

Under all of it sits the Pay Index: the median live-in day rate for the US and for every state we cover, computed from the live listings themselves, refreshed monthly, with the method and the sample size published next to the numbers. It exists so a family knows what care actually costs and a caregiver knows what their work is actually worth — before either side signs anything.

Every price, in one place

That is the whole app. It was built by a working live-in caregiver in Los Angeles — the full story is on our About page — and it runs on one rule: live-in jobs, first, with the pay in the open. Questions: cases@onlylivein.com.
